U14 Youth 3 - Milford Pumas 1

Even though recent games have seen great passages of play and significant improvements, the results hadn’t been a fair reflection on the effort, commitment and responsibility shown by our lads...but today that changed.

Playing at home against a strong Milford team that sit 3rd or 4th in the league, we kept with the 4-2-3-1 we’d trialled against Manorcroft the week before and this time it paid dividends.

Solid, comfortable and assured at both ends of the pitch, the lads worked their socks off and bettered a Milford team that had comfortably beat us 5-0 the last time we met.

Before the game we spoke at length about responsibility, commitment and concentration and the boys had clearly taken it on board. Outstanding individual performances from Dylan West, Vincent Tiley, Nathan Cole & Freddie Hubbard were matched by 3 outstanding goals - including: a 30 yard lob and ‘goal of the season contender’ from Ethan Austin, a beautiful cool, calm & confident strike from Lewis Cooling and a 25 yard lob from Dylan Lawrance that gives him his 5th goal in 6 games.

All in all it was a solid team effort which rightly sees us move up the table and take alot of confidence into our upcoming games...
