Diamonds scored four unanswered goals in a dominant second half performance to go eleven points clear of a group of teams clustered in second and third. At the end of a tight first half, Ripley took the lead after a breakaway with a neat finish to the bottom corner. But Diamonds came straight back to score two good goals late in the half. An early goal in the second half seemed to break the visitors' morale, and from 3-1, the Abbey team dominated possession and the game, scoring three more to avenge a 2-1 loss at Ripley earlier in the season.
