Runnymede Youth Sports Council
The Launch of the Runnymede Youth Sports Council
Runnymede Borough Council are currently looking for young people aged 11-19 years to join their Youth Sports Council. The young people must attend a sports club, reside or attend a school in Runnymede.
Their first meeting is due to be held at Runnymede Civic Centre, Addlestone 6-8pm on 12th January where they will look at the aims of the group and possible future projects.
With the help of the young people, Runnymede Youth Sports Council hopes to offer the following:
* To express ‘one voice for youth sport’ on behalf of young people in Runnymede.
* To campaign on local sporting issues that young people care about.
* To promote and encourage activities and events that create sporting opportunities.
* To celebrate the achievements of young sports people in Runnymede.
* To promote the ‘voice’ of the Runnymede Youth Sports Council to the community.
* To support sporting initiatives whether they are local or national.
* To support and promote any local 2012 campaigns.
* To assist and support Sport Runnymede.
If you are interested please liaise with Graham Keable as initially they are only asking clubs to send a maximum of one representative from each team within the age bracket of 11-19 years.
